The Rotary Clubs of Space Center, Seabrook and League City honored Clear Creek ISD’s 44 campus teachers of the year and announced the 2018 Elementary and Secondary Teachers of the Year during a luncheon at South Shore Habour Resort and Conference Center on May 21, 2018.

Crystal Starke of Mossman Elementary was chosen as the CCISD Elementary Teacher of the Year. The Special Education teacher has become a leader on her campus by enabling her students to overcome challenges to achieve high standards.

Westbrook Intermediate social studies teacher, Anita Lewis, is the CCISD Secondary Teacher of the Year. Lewis is dedicated to personalizing the instruction for her learners and engaging her students beyond the classroom setting. She has been a teacher for 25 years and believes that all students can be successful if they actively engage in positive participation in their learning process.

Clear Creek ISD congratulates both Crystal Starke and Anita Lewis, as well as the other four 2018 finalists: Liliana Martinez Perez, Landolt Elementary 4th grade teacher; Shara Mills, North Pointe Elementary art teacher; Lauren Douglas, Bayside Intermediate English teacher; Ann Daley, Clear Brook High School English teacher. Starke and Lewis will now advance to the regional and then possibly state selection process for Texas Teacher of the Year. They each received $1,500 from the Rotary Clubs of League City, Seabrook and Space Center. Finalists received $750 each.
